Welcome to the Armadale Blog. I have been a resident since 2001, living in Gosnells before that. I am not sure what will come of this. I'd like to write about things that are happening in Armadale, or about why things are not happening. So, new buildings, crime, good news stories, pets, restaurants...you name it.
Two things I want to discuss in this first post: A few weeks ago in the Armadale Examiner, there was a picture of two guys on dirt bikes riding on the Champion Lakes Cycle path, who allegedly pushed a cycleist as they went past him. Well, there was no alleged about it. I am the cycleist that got shoved. And the guy in the hoody on the front page was the guy who shoved me. There. It's out there now. I have gone to the police station a couple of times to report in as the shovee, but they have been closed both times. Why is a police station closed on a Saturday? or ever for that matter....
Anyway, on to other things. There's a new building going up on Orchard Avenue. I have been joking that it is Armadale's first skyscraper. It's 5 storeys tall. I have been told it is the new Council Offices. Is that what it is? How much is this costing? I wonder how much our rates went up for this and what was wrong with the old chambers?
Anyway, if you live in Armadale, love or hate it, it's our city. There is much to like and love about the city. There are things that need fixing too. I am hoping through this blog to raise awareness and maybe effect some positive changes too our city.
